The Cricketers & Medieval Saffron Walden (with lunch) Wednesday 22nd October 2025 This new excursion takes us to the delightful medieval town of Saffron Walden, with its rich heritage of old buildings, including St Mary’s Church, the largest and one of the most beautiful parish churches in Essex. In addition, the town has a bustling open-air market, and the tranquil, Grade II Listed, Bridge End Garden, which was restored to its former glory in recent times, and is well worth a visit (free entry). Our lunchtime destination is the “chocolate box” village of Clavering, where we enjoy a lovely 2-course lunch at the award-winning Cricketers, a delightful 16th-century English country inn, once owned by TV chef Jamie Oliver’s parents. Christmas at Hever Castle with Lunch Saturday 22nd November 2025 This lovely excursion for 2025 takes us to enchanting Hever Castle, where the rooms are beautifully decorated for the festive season, with twinkling Christmas trees and welcoming log fires. Our tour includes a delicious two-course Christmas lunch, with mulled wine/hot spiced apple juice and tea/coffee served in the restaurant. There will be ample time to explore the majestic castle, childhood home of Anne Boleyn, and grounds, as well as visit the gift shop, before dusk falls, and the magical themed Christmas trail is illuminated with up-lighting and colour washes. Includes: admission to the Castle & Gardens, interactive Castle Audio Guide Tour, Christmas light trail experience. 2-course lunch (main & sweet) with bread and butter, water, tea & coffee, and mulled wine/hot spiced apple juice. Thursford Christmas Spectacular Monday 24th November 2025 ***JUST 6 SEATS LEFT*** Join us for the 2pm matinee performance of this ever-popular Christmas extravaganza…as we walk through the doors we are greeted by a spectacle of colour, Christmas decorations adorn the theatre as we sit down ready to be thrilled by the lights, music and nostalgia of this wonderful show. New Year’s Day Proms at the Barbican Thursday 1st January 2026 Welcome in the New Year at London’s Barbican Concert Hall with a celebration of well-loved music from across Europe, greeting 2026 with a sumptuous afternoon of traditional favourites; this glittering concert is one way to ensure a fabulous start to the year. 3pm performance (includes ticket for concert).
