The Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens – Tuesday 27th February 2024 Join us at wonderful Kew Gardens for their annual Orchid Festival and be amazed by the vibrant beauty of the many varieties displayed in the tropical paradise of the Princess of Wales Conservatory. Spring Tour with lunch on the Green – Wednesday 20th March 2024 Our Spring Blossoms tour takes us through Chipping Ongar, Fyfield, the Rodings, Great Dunmow and Medieval Thaxted, with its 15th Century Guildhall and restored windmill, to beautiful Finchingfield, renowned for its picture-postcard village green, duck pond and post mill. After a lovely roast lunch in Winner’s Tea Rooms, we return home via Steeple Bumpstead, Baythorne End, Great Yeldham, Sible Hedingham, Halstead & Earls Colne, stopping at Mill Race, one of the largest garden centres in Essex, with its multitude of gifts & items for the home (includes main, dessert, tea/coffee). Brighton and the Bluebell Steam Railway – April/May 2024 Today’s lovely tour takes us to West Sussex ,where we board the famous Bluebell Steam Railway, Britain’s oldest preserved standard-gauge line, for a nostalgic 11 mile journey, past swathes of beautiful bluebells, to Sheffield Park. From here we make our way to the Regency resort of Brighton, a bustling seaside town with a stunning Royal Pavilion-the seaside palace of Prince Regent George IV, extensive shopping areas-including the chic “Lanes”, a pier, the i360 observation tower and a busy marina (includes train fare) Price to be advised – please call to make a provisional reservation
Spring Blossoms…Historic Dedham & lunch at the Bull – Thursday 25th April 2024 Today’s tour takes us via Bures and Sudbury, to the attractive village of Long Melford, with its magnificent broad High Street, lined with timber framed and Georgian brick houses. We enjoy lunch at the well-respected Bull Hotel, before making our way, via picturesque Monks Eleigh and ancient Hadleigh, to the attractive village of Dedham, in the heart of Constable Country, with its wealth of historic buildings, housing old inns, tearooms and a large art/crafts centre.
