Join us for 4 days in Dorset’s popular seaside resort of Bournemouth, where we welcome the New Year with style at the Ocean Beach Hotel. In addition to the package of live entertainment and extra treats provided by our hotel, we enjoy visits to historic Winchester, vibrant Brighton, Georgian Weymouth and popular Polhill. There will also be time to relax and explore Bournemouth. What better way to see out the old year and welcome the new one?
Located on the prestigious East Cliff, overlooking the bay, Bournemouth’s Ocean Beach Hotel is just a short stroll from the beach and the vibrant town centre. Decorated in a modern, rustic beach style with onsite Spa and Italian Café, this 3-star rated hotel is an ideal base for our tour. The en-suite bedrooms are comfortable, with modern décor, and many have stunning sea views. There is a lift, ground floor rooms, two adapted rooms and some rooms with walk-in shower. An indoor swimming pool is available at the neighbouring sister hotel.
Wed 30th Dec: On leaving our local boarding points, we make our way to Dorset, stopping en-route at the popular Polhill Shopping Village and then again in Winchester, “the perfect English city”, with its magnificent Gothic cathedral. After lunch, our journey takes us through the beautiful New Forest, to Bournemouth where our New Year festivities commence. After settling to our rooms, we join the hotel team for a welcome reception of canapes and bubbly, which is followed by dinner in the restaurant. Live entertainment takes us up to bedtime.
Thu 31st Dec: After today’s tasty breakfast, we travel across the Purbeck Downs to the traditional seaside town of Weymouth, set on a breathtaking Georgian bay, with its level promenade, fascinating harbour, sandy beaches and the usual shopping areas. After lunch, we make our way back to Bournemouth, arriving late afternoon, allowing time to relax and prepare for the evening celebrations. We all meet again in the hotel restaurant, where our New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner will be served, with a Highland Piper making an appearance. Live entertainment takes us through the evening and into 2021.
Fri 1st Jan: After the excitement of the night before, we ease into the New Year with a lie-in and a leisurely breakfast/brunch. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing in the hotel, strolling along the seafront or perhaps visiting the January sales. We all meet again for afternoon tea, served with chef’s treats. This evening’s farewell dinner is followed, once again, by live entertainment.
Sat 2nd Jan: Following breakfast today, we bid a fond farewell to our hosts at the Ocean Beach Hotel, and head for home. We visit the vibrant Regency resort of Brighton, a bustling seaside town with a stunning Royal Pavilion-the seaside palace of Prince Regent George IV, extensive shopping areas-including the chic “Lanes”, a pier, the i360 observation tower and a busy marina, before completing our journey to Essex.
Includes: 3 nights half-board in en-suite bedrooms, porterage, 1 excursion and visits on outward and return journeys. 3 nights live entertainment, welcome reception, afternoon tea.
