Boon’s Calibre Travel 2026 Colesbourne Snowdrops & Quintessential England Departs Sunday 15th February 2026 for 3 days half-board
Our second short break of the 2026 season is one not to be missed…a great hotel and a lovely itinerary. Our tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Cotswold town of Bourton-on-the-Water, where we have time to explore and take lunch. On our second day, we enjoy an excursion to “Black & White” Ledbury & Tewkesbury, two characterful towns boasting a wealth of historic buildings, and individual shops and cafés. On our final day (our return journey), we experience the highlight of our trip, a visit to Colesbourne Park, reputedly “England’s Greatest Snowdrop Garden”, where we enjoy a talk, a tour and refreshments.
A warm welcome awaits at the ivy-clad 4* Abbey Hotel in the historic, Worcestershire town of Great Malvern. This lovely hotel is set in landscaped gardens, next to Malvern Priory and Gatehouse - now Malvern Museum, and boasts well-appointed bedrooms, with spectacular views of the Vale of Evesham or Malvern Hills. Delicious meals are served in the Abbey’s Priory View Restaurant and drinks may be enjoyed in the well-stocked Priory View Lounge Bar. The hotel has a lift and two accessible bedrooms with wet rooms.
Day 1: We depart from our local boarding points and head into the heart of the Cotswolds, where we visit the charming village of Bourton-on-the-Water, which sits astride the beautiful River Windrush, spanned by five arched bridges. Known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds”, Bourton offers a wealth of attractions, shops, restaurants, cafes and tea rooms, and is regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England. After lunch, we continue on to our hotel, where we arriving good time for dinner.
Day 2: After breakfast today, we visit the Herefordshire town of Ledbury, which lies to the west of the undulating Malvern Hills. Known as one of the finest black & white towns in the country, the market town of Ledbury boasts a wealth of historic buildings as well as a wide range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. This afternoon, we head for the medieval riverside town of Tewkesbury, with its historic centre and magnificent abbey. Time to explore the network of alleyways in the old town, and to wander along the fine high street, perhaps try some of the world famous Tewkesbury Mustard, before we return to our hotel for dinner.
