Once again we join our friends at the Rosemundy House Hotel, in the picturesque Cornish village of St Agnes, with its beautiful beaches and breathtaking scenery. Look out for Stippy Stappy, the row of pretty sea captains cottages, which tumble down the hillside, and also the remains of the stone built engine houses, a reminder of the village’s mining past.

Our three lovely excursions include the historic ports of Padstow & Charlestown, the cathedral city of Truro, rugged Lands End, the picturesque resort of Falmouth and the fascinating Cornish Cyder Farm. In addition, we take a tour past magical St Michaels Mount, have time at leisure in St Agnes and also visit the compact cathedral city of Wells, the Wilton Shopping Village and Jamaica Inn en-route.

Our hotel is the welcoming, family run AA 3* Rosemundy House, an elegant Queen Anne residence dating back to the 1780’s, beautifully situated amongst secluded gardens & woodlands, where we are assured of a warm welcome and excellent cuisine. The Rosemundy is ideally situated to explore the county of Cornwall and is also a comfortable home-from-home when at leisure. All well appointed en-suite bedrooms are on either the ground or first floor and for relaxation, there are two comfortable lounges. Meals are waitress served in the attractive “Tom Noggi” restaurant. Day 1: We depart from our local boarding points and head for the Southwest, stopping en-route at the Wilton Shopping Village and Jamaica Inn, immortalised in Daphne du Mauriers book of the same name. On arrival in St Agnes, porters take care of our luggage while we settle into our rooms. This evening, we enjoy a welcoming sherry reception prior to dinner in the restaurant.

Day 2:  After breakfast today, we make our way to the harbour village of Charlestown; a Georgian “new town” which was developed in the 1700’s to export copper & china clay. Largely, unspoilt, with rugged coastal views and a working port, the original grade II listed harbour was a film location for the recent TV series, Poldark. Time for coffee, before we visit the “capital” of Cornwall, Truro, with its comprehensive pedestrianised shopping area, historic buildings, parks and magnificent cathedral.  After lunch, we return to our hotel, stopping en-route at Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, the largest Cornish Cider maker in Cornwall, and the only distillers making Cider Brandy & Fruit spirits.

Day 3: Today, we head for one of Cornwall’s oldest towns, the idyllic, picturesque fishing port of Padstow, which sits at the head of the beautiful Camel estuary. The town, with its narrow winding streets & colourful harbour, is known for its fine, locally produced food and is home to celebrity chef, Rick Stein’s, famous fish restaurant. Ample time to explore, before take a scenic return route to St Agnes, where we spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Following breakfast, we make our way to Lands End, the most South Westerly point of mainland Britain, with its spectacular sea views. We have the opportunity to enjoy the natural splendour of this unique location, with its many attractions, before taking a scenic route, round Mounts Bay, past magical St Michaels Mount, to the popular seaside resort of Falmouth, known as “the Queen of the Cornish Rivera”, with its mild sub-tropical climate, a deep natural harbour and fine shopping centre.

Day 5: After breakfast this morning, we commence our journey home. Our lunchtime stop will be historic Wells, the smallest city in England, with its beautiful cathedral and moated Bishops Palace.

Includes: 4 nights half-board (dinner, bed & breakfast) in en-suite bedrooms, porterage, ground floor rooms, accessible room, walk-in showers, entertainment, 3 excursions, visits on outward & return journeys. Note: no lift
