Brighton and the Bluebell Steam Railway Tuesday 14th October 2025 Today’s lovely tour takes us to West Sussex ,where we board the famous Bluebell Steam Railway, Britain’s oldest preserved standard-gauge line, for a nostalgic journey, taking in the glorious reds, browns and oranges of Autumn. Please note, that due to work on the line, we have had to revise our original itinerary as follows…instead of the planned SINGLE train journey from East Grinstead Station to Sheffield Park Station, we will now be travelling by coach to Sheffield Park Station, where we will join the train for a RETURN journey to Horsted Keynes Station and back. The railway will be arranging complementary tea/coffee on our arrival at Sheffield Park Station. We spend the remainder of the day in the Regency resort of Brighton, a bustling seaside town with a stunning Royal Pavilion-the seaside palace of Prince Regent George IV, extensive shopping areas-including the chic “Lanes”, a pier, the i360 observation tower and a busy marina. (Includes train fare & tea/coffee). Adult/SC: £66
Medieval Saffron Walden & Blake House Craft Centre Tuesday 21st October 2025 Today’s circular tour takes us through Chipping Ongar, Fyfield, the Rodings, Great Dunmow and Medieval Thaxted, with its 15th Century Guildhall and restored windmill, to the delightful medieval town of Saffron Walden, with its rich heritage of old buildings, including St Mary’s Church, the largest and one of the most beautiful parish churches in Essex. In addition, the town has a bustling open-air market, and the tranquil, Grade II Listed, Bridge End Garden, which was restored to its former glory in recent times, and is well worth a visit (free entry). On leaving Saffron Walden, we travel via the Bardfields, to Blake House Craft Centre, a traditional farmyard, that has been transformed into a flourishing craft centre housing a café and a wide range of small shops and business outlets. Time for refreshments and shopping, before we return home. Adult/SC: £42.50 Sorry, no pickups in Shenfield & Brentwood for this excursion
