What a wonderful time of year to visit Scotland; sit back and admire the breathtaking colours of autumn, a dazzling profusion of warm reds and golds, on our three fabulous excursions, which radiate from our popular four star hotel. Our tour includes a day on the fascinating Isle of Arran “Scotland in Miniature”, where we enjoy a guided coach tour of the island. In addition, we travel alongside stunning Loch Lomond, through the beautiful Argyll Forest Park to the white painted town of Inveraray, with its majestic castle and lochside setting, before returning to our hotel, via ferry, from the coastal resort of Dunoon. Our day of Scottish heritage, takes us to two award-winning attractions, historic New Lanark Mill, a World Heritage Site in a spectacular gorge setting, and Glasgow’s outstanding Riverside Museum, situated on the Quay and alongside the majestic 19th century Tall Ship, Glen Lee.

A tour not to be missed.

Be assured of a warm welcome from the 4* Riverside Lodge Hotel, situated on the outskirts of the town of Irvine, on the Ayrshire coast, one of Scotland’s most beautiful areas. The hotel offers a superb range of facilities, comfortable, modern en-suite bedrooms, a contemporary Brasserie restaurant and a spacious lounge. There is no lift; however, there are many ground floor rooms, including one equipped for the disabled.

Day 1: On leaving our local boarding points we make our way northward, with comfort stops en-route. On arrival in Scotland, we enjoy a welcome hot drink, while porters take care of our luggage.

Day 2: We will be organising an alternative excursion for Day 2 from that advertised in our 2020 brochure

Day 3: Today, we are joined by the excellent local guide, Iain Hendry, for an enjoyable coach tour of the beautiful island of Arran. Affectionately known as “Scotland in Miniature”, Arran boasts mountainous scenery, stunning seascapes, picturesque towns, historic castles, beautiful gardens, mystical standing stones & unspoilt beaches. The island capital is Brodick, with its great selection of speciality shops and local food producers offering a range of tempting products and delicious treats. After a wonderful day, we return to our hotel. Note: the Tour Guide is now unavailable therefore our coach driver will lead the tour of Aaran

Day 4: Our route today takes us northward, along the western shore of stunning Loch Lomond, via the villages of Tarbet & Arrochar – at the tip of Loch Long, through Glen Croe and the “Rest and be Thankful” pass, to the distinctive white painted town of Inveraray, on the shore of Loch Fyne, with its majestic castle, maritime museum and famous old jail. We return alongside Loch Eck and through the beautiful Argyle Forest Park to the resort of Dunoon, from where we take the short sea crossing to Gourock and back to our hotel.

Day 5: We depart soon after breakfast for our journey home, making suitable stops en-route for refreshments & lunch.

Includes: 4 nights half-board in en-suite bedrooms, porterage, ground floor rooms, disabled room. Welcome reception, 3 excursions. Ferry crossings. Tour of Arran.
