Meet friends, old and new, on our lovely Christmas break, which this year takes us into the West Country, for five days in the mid-Devon market town of Tiverton. For your delight, in addition to the festive program provided by our hotel, we have arranged excursions into the Exmoor National Park and also to the elegant resort of Sidmouth. A great hotel, convivial company and the usual Boon’s extras; we’re confident our 2020 seasonal celebration will be a winner.
Our hotel is the welcoming, and award-winning, 3* standard Best Western Tiverton, which sits in two and a half acres of mature gardens, centrally located in the heart of Devon. The spacious, well-appointed en-suite accommodation is arranged over two floors, with a large number of ground floor bedrooms available, some are adapted for the disabled. The light and modern Galley Restaurant serves an excellent selection of food with locally sourced menus. 23rd Dec: We depart from our local boarding points, and make our way to Tiverton, stopping en-route in Bradford-upon-Avon, a charming Wiltshire town with a wealth of architectural treasures and delightful, narrow streets. On arrival at our hotel, we enjoy welcome refreshments while porters take care of our luggage. We meet again for dinner in the Gallery Restaurant. Tonight, relax in the lounge or join in with a fun game of Bingo.
24th Dec: After breakfast today, we take a drive into the beautiful Exmoor National Park, with its unique landscape of moorland, woodland and valleys, returning in time for a light lunch at our hotel. Relax this afternoon, or take a stroll into Tiverton, before our Christmas Eve dinner, followed by live entertainment. We will be providing coach transport to midnight mass for those who wish to go; coco and a mince pies will be served on our return.
25th Dec: Merry Christmas!!! Following breakfast, there will be time to relax and open presents or to attend church services (coach transport is not provided today). Our lovely Christmas lunch, with all the trimmings, will be served in the Gallery Restaurant and there will be presents for all. This afternoon, enjoy tea/coffee and a slice of cake, while watching the Queens speech. This evening’s meal is buffet style and is followed by a quiz.
26th Dec: Our excursion today takes us to the characterful resort of Sidmouth, which nestles beneath majestic red cliffs in the glorious Sid Valley, and boast pretty parks, beaches, interesting shops and a wealth of history. We return to our hotel via the city of Exeter. This evening’s “Devon” themed dinner is followed by live entertainment.
27th Dec: We depart from our hotel soon after breakfast and make our way home. Our lunchtime stop will be the Wilton Shopping Village, in its relaxed riverside setting.
Includes: 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast plus Christmas Day & Christmas Eve lunch. All coach travel. Christmas package as described. Porterage. Christmas gift. Raffle & chocolates on the coach.
