Springtime at the Standen Estate & Chiddingstone Village

Thursday 19th March 2026

On this excursion we visit NT Chiddingstone, one of the prettiest villages in Kent, possibly England, which is a beautiful example of a Tudor one-street village, with many buildings over 200 years old. We have time to explore, and take refreshment, before continuing on to NT Standen House & Garden, with its idyllic location and views across the Sussex countryside. The house, which is dressed for a weekend stay in 1925, is one of the finest examples of Arts and Crafts workmanship, with Morris & Co interiors creating a warm & welcoming atmosphere. The hillside garden showcases year-round seasonal highlights and an award-winning plant collection.

Adult/SC: £43.90 (National Trust Members)

Spring Blossoms…Ancient Woodbridge & lunch at the Four Horseshoes

Wednesday 15th April 2026

Today we travel to the pretty village of Thornham Magna where we visit, reputedly, the oldest pub in Suffolk, the Four Horseshoes; a family run 12th Century thatched Inn, as lovely on the inside, as it is strikingly beautiful on the outside. After lunch, we make our way, via a scenic route, to the ancient market town of Woodbridge, attractively located on the Deben Estuary. Once a busy seaport, Woodbridge is considered one of East Suffolk’s most desirable locations (includes 2-course meal, tea/coffee).    Adult/SC: TBD                                                                                          Sorry, no pickups in Shenfield & Brentwood for this excursion
