Kathy Brown’s Award-Winning Garden & Historic Hitchin 2021 departure date to be confirmed

Today’s excursion takes us to the “picture perfect” Hertfordshire town of Hitchin, with its medieval layout, historic buildings and traditional cobbled streets. The highlight of the day, is a visit to Kathy Brown's award-wining garden, for a personal fully guided tour. Kathy and her husband have developed the four acre site over the past 25 years and are proud to share their beautiful gardens with visiting groups. After exploring the thirty themed areas we enjoy light refreshments from Kathy's homemade flower themed menu (includes garden entrance, guided tour & refreshments). Adult/S.C: £TBA

 

Buckingham Palace & Covent Garden 2021 departure date to be confirmed

Today we spend time in the ever popular Covent Garden, where we take lunch and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique area of London with its specialist shopping and lively street entertainment. The highlight of our excursion is a visit to Buckingham Palace, the office and London residence of Her Majesty The Queen, where we have access to the 19 magnificent State Rooms which provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining. All rooms are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection and this year's special exhibition focuses on the Royal Family's interest in animals. At the end of our visit we can enjoy a walk through the garden to the exit, with splendid views of the Palace and the famous lake.  Adult: £TBA     S.C: £TBA     Child (5-16): £TBA

 

Pashley Manor Dahlia Day 2021 departure date to be confirmed

As summer turns to autumn the gardens at Pashley Manor, on the border of Sussex and Kent, are ablaze with the rich colours of over 40 varieties of dahlia. The hundreds of flowers in pink, yellow, white, purple, hot red and orange are complemented by roses, canna lilies, late flowering perennials and other annuals, in the magnificent herbaceous borders, which are at their best at this time of year. In addition, Bloms Bulbs will be in attendance, with a gorgeous display of cut/potted dahlias, giving advice and taking orders. With a café, gift shop, plant sales and exhibitions to enjoy, Pashley’s Dalia extravaganza makes a superb day out. We will make a morning refreshment stop at Polhill Garden Centre (includes admission)

St Pauls Cathedral & Royal Greenwich 2021 departure date to be confirmed

Rebuilt by Christopher Wren after the great Fire of 1666, the iconic domed St. Paul's Cathedral has been the site of many historic state occasions; including Sir Winston Churchill's state funeral and the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. A busy working Christian community with several daily services, St Paul’s welcomes visitors from all over the world to see its awe-inspiring interior. We spend the remainder of the day in Royal Greenwich with its many shops, eating places and attractions, including the National Maritime Museum, the grand Palladian Queen’s House, the celebrated tea clipper, Cutty Sark, Greenwich Market and of course the Royal Observatory, which stands on the Greenwich Meridian (includes entry to St Pauls) Adult: £TBA      S.C: £TBA       Child (6-17): £TBA

 

Smugglers & lunch at the Pilot Inn 2021 departure date to be confirmed

Today’s excursion takes us to the famous Pilot Inn, situated a stone’s throw from the sea, in the heart of the breathtaking Dungeness National Nature Reserve; the UK’s only desert. We enjoy a traditional fish & chip lunch, washed down with a cup of tea or coffee, in surroundings that hark back to the smuggling days of Romney Marsh, before continuing attractive, hill-top town of Rye, a former trading port and smugglers haunt, with its timbered houses, specialty shops, tearooms and restaurants

(includes small cod, chips, peas, bread & butter, tea/coffee—desserts may be purchased from the menu if required).  Adult/S.C: £TBA

 

Buckinghamshire Chilterns, Henley & Marlow 2021 departure date to be confirmed

Our excursion today takes us through the peaceful wooded lanes and picturesque towns and villages of the Buckinghamshire Chilterns, with visits to the picturesque riverside towns of Henley & Marlow. Henley “Queen of the Thames” one of the most beautiful towns in England and location for some Midsomer Murders! Time for lunch in one of the many cafes, shopping in the Georgian fronted High Street, or perhaps a stroll by the river, before we continue on to Marlow, equally beautiful, with its magnificent 19th Century suspension bridge crossing the Thames. We return via Beaconsfield, Amersham, with its collection of thatched cottages, Chesham & Bovington. Adult/S.C: £TBA

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: For Day Excursions marked (Not B & S) we are unable to pick up in Shenfield or Brentwood, apologies for any inconvenience. If you live in these areas, your nearest boarding point would be Mountnessing. However, all Holidays and Short breaks include Shenfield & Brentwood pick ups.
